How to create
a Just Culture
Rudy Pont believes punishing people for honest mistakes is not the answer. As both an aviation accident investigator and ambassador for Just Culture, he advocates creating ownership and safety in a positive way. He will offer you a new view on safety management and provide practical pointers on how to foster a culture of mutual trust and open reporting at your lab.

Meet your speakers
David is the co-founder of Toolsquare. As a former solution architect in improving workflows, David felt something was missing in shared workplaces. Expensive machines were sitting idle while so many people wanted to use them. Enter Toolsquare, a solution digitising user access, enabling safe sharing of machines. In the past four years of implementing and continuously improving our system in labs in Belgium, Norway and the Netherlands, David has learned a lot about the digital transformation of labs.
Rudy is an A320 airline captain and chairs the Air Safety Committee of the Belgian Cockpit Association. He has a background in electro-mechanical engineering and over 15 years of safety experience. Rudy holds an MSc in Air Safety Management from City University London and one in Safety Sciences from the University of Antwerp. His motto? “People are safety!”. This explains his active role in the EUROCONTROL Just Culture Task Force. According to him, mutual understanding of worker and management perspectives is key to increase both safety and efficiency.
To make innovation and craftmanship accessible to all
We envision a higher level of cooperation, sharing and ownership among makers and researchers. Our goal is to render workshops and laboratories self managing. To this end, we created hardware units and a software platform controlling user access and enabling safe sharing of machines.
